Automation.
The writing is one the wall. The shit has hit the fan.
Why? It’s the economy stupid.
Actually, I have no idea if it really is the economy or just the internet marketing version of peaks and valleys but there is little doubt that we’re seeing an uptick in IM products that promise mass automation and profits will little investment and effort. Whether it’s direct linking with Google Shadow or mass (outsourced) site building with The Minisite Formula the trend is AWAY from content writing and toward content generation.
If you’re a wanna-be guru, jump on the train while the going’s good.

I thought the automation era had come and gone but now you’re saying its back again?
So if everyone is going for automation wouldn’t the right choice be to go in the opposite direction? (Unless you’re selling automation products naturally…)

Automation never really went away, it just shook out all the noobs and wanna-be types that were able to kill it without any idea of conversion and traffic.
Automation + Adsense was a perfect storm but lo and behold people are starting to publish “new” products on what’s been working in the wake of the Adsense slaps.
So instead of the “death” of Adsense – which in some ways solidified the rise of the PPC + Clickbank model – you have the “rebirth” of the minisite model and the (semi) auto generated site model.
It’s just a pendulum swinging back and forth…
You don’t have to get on the band wagon but you can’t hate the players when you start seeing more and more of this being promoted.
