5 Reports In 2 Days… And Counting

actual JV blog instructions for promoting the launch... (kidding)
A few months ago the world was on the brink of a global financial meltdown. We all avoided that one. Today though – at least in the US – unemployment is high, wages are down, and the real estate market is still in the tank for 99 of the top 100 cities.
People are still hurting…
And on Monday January 11 Frank Kern orchestrated a $3.5M launch in 6 hours. Three point five MILLION. Six hours.
But wait, there’s more. Steve Clayton and Tim Godfrey also launched Niche Blueprint 2.0… $300 a seat. THE SAME DAY. 2000 copies were sold.
What recession? If you ever needed to believe that people with passion or a desperate need will buy… this is it. $4M from two products. One day. In our little community. ‘Freakin amazing.
Right about now you might be saying to yourself: “who gives a shit? A – I’m not making any of that, and B – this stuff is for people with big lists…” To which I’d ask you to hold your horses for a second and keep reading. David can slay Goliath – or at least fight him to a draw.
You just have to be a little smarter.
Let’s talk about “bonuses”…
Bonuses in the IM world are like Wal-Mart everyday low pricing. We all expect them. So when ANYTHING launches there’s a mad dash to see who has the best bonus. There’s bonus trading, bonus hijacking, and even entire forum threads DEDICATED to who has what bonus. Not the product – the bonus. It’s almost like we expect the product to suck — or in reality what we expect is that it won’t work for “me” — and deep down we want the biggest pile of crap in order to justify the money we just spent.
Why do information marketers put 2 hours of audio on 6 CDs? For your convenience. Ummm.. nope. Higher perceived value.
And here in lies how David can kick Goliath’s ass. Or at least not end up in the hospital. This also explains how my cold/flu has gotten worse in the past few days and not better.
Most marketers cut and paste the launch emails that the product owner sends and then they bundle in their super-duper-ninja-2000 bonus pack (50 copies only! This won’t last!!) Now, 98.7% of the time — I measured — there is NO RELATIONSHIP between the product and the bonuses. The bonus is just whatever lead magnets or shit was laying around. Pile 10 pounds of poop in a 5 pound bag and you’ll sell something to somebody.
We all love big boxes. Even photoshop images of boxes and DVDs.
This works if you have a big list. Math is in your favor and the cynicism of most internet marketers is in your favor. You convert a half percent on 100,000 people and you have 500 sales. You know 90% of those folks aren’t going to open the product. They’ll be onto the next greatest launch in a week or a month. So you put in your lead magnets. Doesn’t matter if product A is black and your stuff is white.
What if you have a small list? What if you give two shits about the relationship you have with the list?
“Stack on the cool” - one of the best Frank Kern expressions ever.
Here’s what you do (hold onto your seats because this is going to get funky) –
You get a preview copy of the product and you CREATE UNIQUE BONUSES that align to the product. Fucking radical idea.
All the big fancy college types would say this is “market to message matching” and an example of “1-1 marketing” and “relationship marketing”. Yeah, but Stacking The Cool sounds a hell of a lot more fun.
By the way – this works in ANY market. Fitness, relationships, Self Help, Natural medicine, real estate investing, internet marketing – any message. Make unique bonuses that align SOMEHOW with the product and you can compete with the big boys.
And have a lot of fun along the way. In the past two days I put together 5 brand new reports for my buddy Andre and Niche Blueprint 2.0. Check out these over the top titles:
“The Market Niche Formula: The Secret Keyword Strategy That Lets You Laser Focus Your Traffic & Profits Whether You Are Building A Store, Adsense Site, Or Affiliate Website”
“2 Is Much Bigger Than 1 – How To AT LEAST Double The Profits From Your Niche Blueprint Site In Less Than 1/3 The Time”
“The SEO And Traffic Strategy… That Steve & Tim LEFT OUT of Niche Blueprint 2.0″
“Success Leaves Clues – The Discover Niches Shortcut That Steve & Tim DIDN’T Tell You About… Use These 2 Purloined Letter Resources And You Will Never Need To Spend More Than 5 Minutes Finding A Niche Blueprint 2.0 Store Idea (And It Works For Affiliates Too!)”
“Affiliate Niche Blueprints – How You Can Use The Tools & Strategies In NB 2.0 For Affiliate Marketing
(Get This Wrong And You’ll Always Be Wondering Why You Can’t Make A Dime From Being An Affiliate)…
(Actually, Tim’s asked if we could give the “Success Leaves Clues” report to every NB 2.0 customer. It’s a cool idea.)
Anyway – the point to take from all of this is that when you promote something as an affiliate it is almost always worth the time to make something SPECIAL for your buyer. Let the big list folks rehash their lead magnets and pile 10 pounds of crap into the 5 pound bag.
You… stack the cool.
NB: to be really fair – a LOT of marketers with big lists do a great job with their bonuses. They give their time and services, they provide aligned products, yada yada. Cool is cool. Now, if you’re cool and you have a massive honking list then you’re probably surfing in La Jolla, CA and don’t really need to be reading this do you?
And YES – I am really happy with the reports Andre and I put together. Check them out here – http://affiliatebully.com/endorses/nicheblueprint/
Hey Dave – Got a question about NB 2.0 for you …
I bought Long Tail Cash from you and found it to be one of the best IM courses EVER. Also got update – Tail Blueprint 2.5.
I also have Market Samuri but won’t be able to run it with Adobe Air until I get my new Mac real soon.
I’m looking at NB 2.0 with the idea of just using the tools & info to build affiliate sites – as I have no interest in the drop shipping model and the inherent hassles with it.
Your bonus reports:
Would I be getting duplicate info? Do I already have …
Your *keyword strategy* in the “The Market Niche Formula”?
The *SEO And Traffic Strategy*
*Finding A Niche Blueprint 2.0 Store Idea*
Affiliate Niche Blueprints – *How You Can Use The Tools & Strategies In NB 2.0 For Affiliate Marketing*
Their “Discover Niches Tool” looks amazing to me but will Market Samuri do the same? – VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW THIS.
Whatever you say or sell, I’m buying. Please ad my email to your customer list – I don’t want to miss anything you come up with. Are there any 2010 updates to LTC or new courses you are coming out with? I hate to spend $300 just to get the latest from you.
Best Regards,
David
Hey Dave – nice name
Thanks for the nice words.
First – Long Tail Cash 2.0 is around the corner. If you have LTC1 you’ll get LTC2 automagically. I finally put up the site and the first blog post. Check it out @ http://LongTailCash.com.
Ok, onto Niche Blueprint 2.0. I really like this course. Yeah, I know I am biased and have a vested interested but I do think the course is excellent. To me, the tools and approach are worth it even if you never decide to do ecommerce. The SEO approach is not a detailed and in depth as what Steve & Tim did in Commission Blueprint, but it’s excellent. In fact, I might be BETTER since it is distilled and more “essential” – no fluff.
The reports – all these were done exclusively for NB 2.0 and really try and frame my approach to looking at niches, markets, keywords, etc. with an ecommerce lens.
“The Market Niche Formula” hasn’t been published publically before. I’ve been toying with the idea of a physical typewritten 3-5 page Adsense/Affiliate report that’s mailed to people for ages. ‘Just never did it since I am not very active in the IM niche. The Market Niche Formula contains the essence of that report. And it includes my “Not Quite Pulled Out Of My Ass Adsense Earnings Formula” in a whole new light.
“Success Leaves Clues” is something I’ve mentioned on calls before but I don’t think it’s ever been written up. Mike Mindel (from Wordtracker) got his copy and said “me likey” – how’s that for a ringing endorsement?
“2 Is Bigger Than 1″ – again, I’ve mentioned this in passing before but I am sure most people miss it. You really will smack yourself on the head with a “D’Oh” when you read it.
“Affiliate Niche Blueprint” is a VERY condensed version of the LTC Tail Blueprint Plan modernized. All the LTC customers were mailed last night. Check your inbox and junk folder. You should have it.
“The SEO & Traffic Strategy” report is a little raw. Too much Nyquil at the time. But it does try and close a hole in Tim’s NB 2.0 strategy. And it’s something Steve & Tim use with their corporate clients so it’s not magic or unknown. You just have to cut the product off at some point.
The tools question is an interesting one. Steve hasn’t emphasized the tools nearly as much as I thought he would. They are pretty killer. Listen, I use Market Samurai every day. I love it. And yes – MS can do some of the things that the NB 2.0 tools do. That’s cool. If you’re a whiz with MS then keep using that. If you want focused and light tools, use the NB 2.0 tools. NB 2.0 also includes the link getting tools (Article Blueprint, Link Blueprint, 3 Way Linking, etc.).
Bottom line – Is NB 2.0 worth it? I think so. Is there overlap with some other courses? Sure. NB 2.0 is focused on ecommerce but the traffic and SEO approaches can be applied anywhere. But it’s only worth it if you seriously commit to executing their traffic plan.
Honestly, it’s worth getting into Tim & Steve’s “club”. They make good tools and produce great infoproducts overall. If you don’t pull the trigger on this one then get another. So far they are all well worth it.
Thanks Dave – you really put this in perspective for me. Indeed Tim & Steve produce great stuff and I agree that getting into their circle has special value for any marketer. I have a couple days to pull the trigger and probably will.
I won’t get Affiliate Niche Blueprint and LTC 2.0 – the email address you have for my LTC purchase has been harvested and spammed out of action. I sent a new email to the support address given on the DealDotCom receipt with proof of purchase. Sorry for the trouble but I gotta have whatever you come up with! I also enclosed the same email for this post in event it’s easier to just grab it.
I also bought IPK. I’m trying to learn all I can about building a product focused affiliate site that makes residual income. I can see where your reports, LTC and NB2 will be quite an info and tool arsenal toward that end.
I have 2 patents on casino table games (blackjack) that have sucked up what free time I’ve had – but now I finally have the time to devote to this. If you ever tackle the gambling market let me know as I can probably help – 20+ years in the trenches on the Vegas strip.
Dave, what did Willie Sutton say when they asked him why he robbed banks? “Because that’s where the money is!” On that note go to freeunderdog.com. Can you imagine a newsletter with 183,000 subscribers and 23% are paying. Factor it out and a paying subscriber is probably worth about $100/mo – that’s over $4 Million a month. I can come up with a product that can beat theirs. Because I’ve got inside connections who can beat their picks and at the very least equal them. From there, it’s all about marketing. All considered, this is a huge undertaking and will take a couple people. After I get some residual income, I’m making a run for the roses. Maybe you can use an extra mill a month
