I was doing some keyword research the other day about hypnosis and other related terms and started to look at the search volume for a few specific phrases. In the Google Keyword Tool you can do this by setting a filter on the minimum searches and setting the match type to “exact match”.
Here’s the results for “brainwashing” – Global Searches > 3000 (100/day), exact match

Does this provide definitive proof that Google blogs, cheap books, and free bibles are related? Of course not.
But what it does show is that the whole notion of “related” keyword phrases can be really tough to determine if you’re a search engine. And maybe (just maybe) manipulated.
By the way – of the lot, “free bibles” is a good keyword to build a site and/or page around (according to the new and improved Keyword Blueprint 2 tool).
