Content Is King right? I mean how many times have you heard some wanna-be marketer tell you this in the lastest hot information product about how they made $2,679 in bed without pajamas? In fact, we hear this SO MUCH we just assume it’s true.
Remember what Tony Randall (or was it Jack Klugman) said about ‘assume’? When you assume you make an ‘ass’ out of ‘u’ and ‘me.’
If I lost you with that one I’ll cut to the chase. Content is important. It serves a purpose — selling, preselling, or otherwise getting a click. Now, if you’re branding yourself or your company then content serves the “branding” purpose as well. But branding is not direct marketing and it’s not the focus of this post.
Here’s what I am getting at. EVERYONE thinks we need to clutter up pages with piles and piles of “content.” The more shit on a page the better. The more UNIQUE shit on a page the better. Most internet marketers are deathly afraid of being labeled a “thin affiliate.” They lust and yearn for being an “authority.”
Well, check this out:
Look around. Go ahead. I’ll still be here. Now, we can talk for hours about seo site structure, internal linking, yada yada but just TAKE A LOOK at this site. It is clean, attractive and nothing more than a small thin-affiliate portal. Let me give you a hint…
You could make sites like this and drive traffic to them. Look at the amount of “content” written for “kids education”

That’s 150 words. About a $1 on Turk or 10-15 minutes if you know anything about the category topic. 20-30 if you have to “research” it.
